[PATCH] Decrease number of pointer derefs in exit.c

Decrease the number of pointer derefs in kernel/exit.c

Benefits of the patch:
 - Fewer pointer dereferences should make the code slightly faster.
 - Size of generated code is smaller
 - improved readability
